I write TrendyVest, an independent research practice with one beat: the money moving through artificial intelligence. Capital is being committed today against revenue promised later, and every piece I publish is a version of the same check — someone put out a number, here is where it has to show up, and here is whether it did. I follow that question through four places it gets asked: the buildout itself (capital spending against depreciation, foundry and memory economics, power and siting), the integration (seats sold against revenue earned, “AI revenue” that is old revenue reclassified), AI in biotech (claimed timelines against actual readout dates), and AI in financials (efficiency claims that have to appear in an expense line). My approach is fundamental and skeptical, and it runs on receipts. I work from filings, call transcripts, and primary releases, not headlines. A price is printed with its time, and a close only when two independent feeds agree. I label arithmetic as my own, with the inputs shown so a reader can reproduce or reject it. Claims are framed as claims, hypotheticals are labeled in the sentence, and every long piece ends with a dated scorecard — the specific numbers and dates on which the thesis will be proved right or wrong — so that my track record is something readers can grade themselves rather than take on faith. Recent work includes a two-segment model of Amazon’s path to 2028, a small-cap spotlight on MaxLinear’s position in the optical bottleneck, an investigation into the memory shortage inside the AI data center, and a three-edition series on the move from copper to optics inside the rack. My sector focus is semiconductors, cloud infrastructure, optical networking, and the hyperscalers, with a growing interest in the power and memory supply chains that constrain all of them, and in the small- and mid-cap companies the buildout is repricing. I also run the TrendyVest Championship, a free simulated-stake trading tournament. I write on Seeking Alpha for the same reason I write TrendyVest: because the AI trade is the largest capital commitment of this generation, most of the commentary about it is unsourced, and investors deserve analysis that shows its work, says what would prove it wrong, and comes back on the date it promised to. Readers who want the daily version can find the Morning Brief at trendyvest.com, and I am on X at @TrendyVest.
